Getting Started

Your First Lifestyle Club Visit

Your first visit to a lifestyle club can feel intimidating, but it's one of the most fun milestones in the lifestyle — and almost everyone wishes they'd gone sooner.

First, know that you're in control of the pace. Most clubs have social areas, a dance floor, and separate play areas. You can spend the entire night in the social space, meet people, have a few drinks, and never set foot in a play room. Many couples do exactly that on their first several visits. Nobody will pressure you to play.

Before you go, check the club's website for the dress code and theme nights. Lifestyle clubs tend to dress up — think date-night sexy, not casual. Arriving well-dressed shows respect for the vibe and boosts your own confidence. A pineapple accessory is a quiet, friendly way to signal you're in the lifestyle.

At the door, expect a membership check or a sign-in, and often a tour for first-timers. Take the tour. Knowing where the lockers, towels, and play rooms are removes a lot of first-night awkwardness.

Mingle early. Introduce yourselves to the host couple — they'll usually introduce you to others. The lifestyle community is genuinely welcoming to newcomers; a warm, friendly approach goes a long way. Don't drink too much — you want to be present and make a good impression.

If you do decide to explore the play areas, remember the golden rules: always ask before touching, respect every "no," and treat couples as a unit. You can leave any room at any time, no explanation needed.

Afterward, debrief with your partner. What felt good, what surprised you, and would you go back? Most couples leave their first club night smiling — and already planning the next one.
